Senior Project Prototypes

Last Friday, Saturday, and Sunday I ended up spending close to 36 hours in the Tektronics Lab at school building and debugging our Senior Project Prototypes for our presentation on Monday. Because the person who was suppose to write the code and test the microcontroller in our design had not done completed their work, we were way behind! We didn't even have a mock-up complete until Friday night, this should have been done at least a weeks ago... But because we had to wait for the code, we couldn't test the mock-up to see if it was working properly. It took us all day Saturday to get a PC Protoboard together and working properly. And then we spent close to 14 hours on Sunday building the last 4 Protoboards, connecting their Infrared emitters and detectors, mounting them in the display boxes, and finally debugging any errors and make sure that they all communicate with each other.

I was exhausted, but at least Monday morning 4 of them worked and we got the good job nod from OMSI.

I am a Nike Demo Tech

I talked to Brent today and got all the info on my new job. Looks like I won't be a Nike Employee... I'll be an independent contractor for Nike. I will get my own demo clubs, which will consist of a bag of Sasquatch drivers and fairway woods, a bag of hybrids, a bag of irons, and a bag of putters and wedges. Then I will also have a Nike tent and table set-up. I should be getting my gear in a couple weeks. :D

I finally decided that I should sign up for FlexCar today. With being a Demo Tech for Nike Golf, I will have to be able to drive around to different golf courses now-and-then with a bit of equipment. If you don't know about FlexCar, it's fairly cool. When you join, it's kind of like renting a car. Except that all you have to do is pick any of the many locations around Portland, call or email when you want the car, go to where the car is parked, swipe your pass key, and then drive off.

All your gas and insurance is pre-paid with your membership. You just pay for the time that you use the car. For me only needing a car a couple times a month, this should come very handy. Plus since it will be work related, I can write it all off...!

Tivo Is The Coolest Thing Ever!

I forgot to set the Tivo to watch the Big Wiesy this afternoon, so I got to school and tried to email my Tivo. I went to the website, logged in, found my show, and clicked record. An hour later my Tivo was set to record Wie kick some ass...
