VOIP Here I Come...

Since I get so many phone calls a day, and talk hours on end, I went and got a couple of headsets for Karen and myself.

Click on the picture and it will take you to Newegg to purchase your own set. They are like $14 with a $7 rebate, and so far work great... If you don't have a set, get one. Plus Newegg rocks and sent me mine in 2 days!

With a cool headset like what we got you can make internet calls, and leave voicemails to Gmail accounts, and sound like Darth Vader... And all for free! So talking to Karen in Italy = NO COST (just to let you know). So if you want to call me (and who doesn't), feel free on my Google Talk account. Or at my Skype account, email me and I will get you my ID...

Google Analytics

I signed up for Google Analytics a few months ago since I thought it would be cool to see from where in the world people view my blog from. Well looks fairly quiet lately, but I did see some unusual locations. I had 3 hits from Beverly Hills and 1 from Massachusetts. I think the one from Mass. was just a "Next Blog" click, but 3 from Beverly Hills.... hhhhmmm.....

Its a fairly cool app if you are interested in stupid stuff like this. Here is my Geo Map Overlay for the last 3 days, do you see yourself....?

The Exciting Times of Last Week

The week started off great for me! I got to hang out at the LPGA Safeway Classic, worked the range for a couple of days. WOW these ladies are good! Just very consistent ball striking, just amazing. And lots of cuties out there now...

TV is a weird thing, Paula Creamer always looked so-so to me on TV, but in person she was gorgeous. And then there is Natalie Gulbis, who you see just about everywhere and is the LPGA's sex icon, and in person it just looks like she needs to eat a burger.

Anyways on Thursday after the LPGA, I had to drive down to Medford/Klamath Falls to work for a couple days. Nothing exciting, actually fairly boring couple of days. I did play golf at a little course called Shield Crest, nothing to fancy though... I couldn't make a putt to save my life and shot 2 over. And you can see what it did to my handicap, by looking at my new feature, the updating Handicap Card on the left column (sorry for no clever name like the Odonater, which is up and running again at the top).

The only really exciting thing about this trip happened on the way home. As I was passing through Eugene I passed a cop that was sitting on the shoulder of the road. No worries I wasn't speeding. Then a couple of minutes later I saw a whole bunch of commotion going on behind me. Cars were kind of swerving around... I then noticed a truck get through and approach really fast, my guess would be about 120 and was flashing his hazards.

I pulled over and not a couple hundred feet behind him was a cop chasing him down. The cop caught up with the guy just in front of me. They went for about a half mile more and then the guy gave up and pulled over. I passed them at about this time and the cop looked pissed! I bet he got out and pulled his gun cause this guy was running for some reason. But, I wasn't going to pull over and watch...

And that was about it for the week. Karen stopped over in Ashland with me, and her post about the trip is a little bit more entertaining. You can read it on her blog.

Laptop Crash

So last night I updated the Sony Connect software on the laptop, and when it restarted it froze up. I then restarted it again and it just stopped at the Windows logo on Boot-Up...

Tried many different things to correct this. Safe mode, safe mode with DOS Prompt, boot disks, FTP through the desktop to save files, nothing worked. So I finally had to reinstall Windows on it.

Oh well I only lost maybe 3 weeks of stuff. Most of it was on the desktop anyways... I needed to reinstall Windows anyways it was getting kind of slow. But now I have to reinstall a TON of software...

Wow Sunriver Rocks!

So after we played Crosswater we checked into our hotel room, we got a River Lodge room at Sunriver. WOW these are nice... They have leather chairs, a huge and really soft bed, and an immaculate bathroom.

They were having a small concert across on the driving range, so I sat on my back patio had a burger and a beer and just listened as the sun went down. (a $20 burger and beer by the way :O)

I then ran a bath for myself and read a magazine and sipped on some Deschute's Brew in the tub.

The next morning I woke up and checked my directions to Widgi Creek. The travel time was like 25 minutes. I then noticed an alternate route that was more direct and looked to maybe only take 10 - 15 minutes. So I decided to go the back roads. Well when I turned onto the road it was a gravel road, so I was a little bit worried...

Fortunately it only lasted for like 3 or 4 miles then it turned into a paved road. And low and behold I arrived at Widgi Creek in like 12 minutes!

Anyways... It was a fun trip, just too bad it was for 1 night...

Relaxin in Sunriver, Somebody's Got To Do It...

Well I drove down to Sunriver today and I played some golf at Crosswater with Brent. Man what an incredible course, and man what a butt whooping! I hit the ball incredibly and shot terribly, Brent hit the ball like shit and was making things from all over!

He shot 1 under on the back to shoot 75. I skanked it around in 80... The funny part is I hit every fairway in the round but 1. That usually means I will score awesome, but I just wasn't getting any breaks.

We played from the 2nd to the back tees, but they were playing them fairly deep so it was almost like playing from the tips. Probably around 7400 yards!!! Good thing I was smoking the driver all day.

I just was getting no luck on the approaches or on the greens. I hit some great shots right where I wanted them, and then I would get some weird bounce and end up off of the green. While Mr. Lucky was getting all of the breaks...

I would then go about making an ass of myself and miss like 5 putts inside of 5 feet... :(

Anyways it was a perfect day though. Temp was about 82 with a slight breeze. And no one was on the course! Man this job is tough...

Slick Nater...

So I am on a roll lately... I found a free Linksys Wireless G Router at CompUSA. It costs $70, then there is $70 in rebates. So if you don't mind rebates, this is a great deal! I picked one up for a backup or for my mom's house. You should all go pick one up, it's good for a backup incase you brick yours by flashing the firmware, or if you don't have one... FREE NANO!

Okay I will admit it, I like the Ipod Nano. I haven't liked a Mac product since the Apple 2. I just think their UI is terrible, a little counter-intuitive to me (the computers that is)... And I hate to jump on bandwagons!

But the Nano looks cool and its super small, and small electronics get me excited. So I was happy to hear about this promotion. At Key Bank all you have to do is open a new "FREE" checking account, and get a direct deposit (can even be $1) or apply for their credit card, and they will give you a free Nano. So obviously I opened an account and set-up direct deposit, anything for a free $150 Nano! So I will be getting my free Nano in the mail in like 2 months...

Should jump on this if you want, its a great deal! Plus you can then use the Nike+ gear.

My Strange Night of Sleeping in the Car...

Last night I had to go downtown and pick up a car for work on Thursday. Well it had already been a long day and I was tired, so when Karen took me to the MAX I left my keys at home (something I do quite often). I didn't notice until I got home at around 11:20.

I started by trying to get her attention by calling her name through the front upstairs window that was opened, that was unsuccessful. So I started to knock on the door hoping to gently let Karen know I am locked outside. After about 5 to 10 minutes of knocking on the door, I started to ring the doorbell lightly. When that didn't worked I rang it a little harder. I didn't constantly ring it cause I didn't want her mad at me (I did this whole forgotten key routine earlier in the week), I just rang it once then waited and repeated. I did this for about 45 minutes...

I then thought that she was mad at me for doing it again so I laid down in the car and went to sleep. At around 3:30 am, Karen walked outside all worried because she had woken up and I wasn't next to her in bed. This really disturbed her because my phone was also at home. Well I slept in the car for 4 hours (badly), worried Karen, and was severely tired for work the next day....

Just wait till I am old and don;t remember any of you!
