YAY 4 Internet!

After a week and a half I finally have my internet hooked up. Because the apartment complex has a deal with ATT, I can only get DSL. Which totally bites! Oh well, it is cheaper though... I also go access to the internet at work finally, so everyone can start emailing me at my gmail address again. I just hate using Outlook. I don't understand why companies don't start using Open Source like Thunderbird. It is free and works way better if you ask me.

Anyways here are a few pics I took in the last week. Some were from driving down and some are from the apartment.

Sorry For The Delay

Well it has now been over a week since I have had in internet connection. Man I am an internet junky...

The drive down absolutely sucked! It took me 14 hours to get to Sacramento and another 12 to get to Oceanside. And all that time in the cab of a truck that just constantly shook. I swear I felt like driving it off the road and crashing it, then just calling the insurance company and getting everything replaced.

My first week of work was ok. My team seems really cool, we all get a long really well. We don't have much to do since almost all of our equipment is still in Chicopee... So we have just been sitting around and trying to debug our indoor test range (ITR). We did all go play golf Sunday morning, not a good thing. I was happy to go play, but I have only played 1.5 rounds since early September and I haven't been practicing at all.

So it went really well... I just barely broke 90... HA! Too bad the rest of my team knows my golf handicap, so they were expecting a little bit more. So I will have to make up for that.

Anyways I got some pics taken, but I will have to wait to post them when I get my own internet connection on Tuesday. Later.

Bank of America???

Have you heard that Bank of America is offering credit cards to illegal aliens? BofA is not requiring a Social Security number, or any credit history to obtain one of their credit cards. All you need is a checking account for 3 months.

I don't like this one bit. First off I think we are way too easy on illegal aliens. I mean just look at the words we use to describe them "ILLEGAL" aliens. They shouldn't be here if you ask me. Now we are giving them more rights that LEGAL Americans go to war for. Come on!

This is just letting the world know that its okay if you don't follow our immigration laws, we'll give you all the rights you need anyways. Bullshit! Thousands upon thousands of Americans have died for our rights, and people are just going to give them away. Its a shame.

** Insert Cool Title **

T-Minus 2.5 days and counting. I have most the house packed up and placed in the garage. All I have left is a few odds-and-ends to pack up, then its time to clean. I have to do some touch-up painting, mop all floors, vacuum and shampoo the carpets, wash all the windows and blinds, scrub and clean the showers and bathrooms, and try to get the back yard cleaned up...

On another note, most of you probably didn't watch Big Break 5, but a previous co-worker of mine (Julie Wells) was on it if you recall. Well the people on the show were fairly interesting, especially Becky. She just seemed like someone that Karen and I would be good friends with. Well I was cruising the LPGA website and noticed that she is doing a rookie blog about her first season on tour. You should check it out, if you care... There are a couple others from the show who have one too.

Becky Jeanne Ashley Kristina

And there is my girl Paige from the UW, who kicked some serious ass for the Dawgs last season. Go Paige!

(If you can't tell, I actually like womens golf. To me its much more competitive then the mens tour. You just never know who is going to win....)

No More Retail!

On Wednesday night I completed my last shift at Golf Galaxy. It felt great, not for leaving a job, but the thought that I may never have to work retail again in my life!

I really didn't have to do much at the Galaxy. My main job was to basically represent Nike and do club fittings. So I really didn't have to deal with much, but it still feels great.

All I have left for work with Nike is the Portland Golf Show this weekend. It will be long, busy hours. I work all day Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. It kind of puts a hamper on me getting ready to move, but I have been making good progress. I am almost all done packing... Just need to finish that up and then completely clean the house. Thats it...

It's Official I am a Callaway Employee

I finally got all the paper work for my offer this morning. They are going to be paying me fairly well. Not as well as I would have liked, but good enough to go down. My first day of work will be the 20th... Kind of short on time, so I will have to kick some butt on packing this place up!

I am planning on driving down the morning of the 17th. So everything has to be packed into the truck by Thursday evening the 15th. That gives me two weeks! I hope I can get everything done. Seems like there is a million things to do.

I am really excited for this opportunity. I think it will work out really well! I wish I could have stayed locally and did this job for my current company. But I couldn't wait forever. I had to go look for a real job. I guess you need to make a long move sometime in your life.... What better time than now.

Living in Carlsbad

I hate spending money and not really getting anything out of it. I especially hate paying rent. So now that there is a very good chance that we are moving down to Carlsbad, I started to look at places to buy. Since I don't think we will be able to comfortably afford a house, I looked for new townhomes and condos.

I ended up finding three new communities so far. And after researching them I am really excited to maybe be buying a new home. They all run in the mid $300s to low $400s, so it will be expensive. I think that it will be just like our current place though, and in 2 years they could be easily worth $500,000. So here are the three I found. (Click the pics to go to their websites, and click the GEarth next to the name to view the site in Google Earth)

Mystic Point:

3 miles to work, 4 miles to the beach, 2 bedrooms, 2 baths, 2 car garage with approximately 1,363 sq. ft., low $400,000s.

Sante Fe Walk:

8.5 miles to work, 8 miles to the beach, 2 bedrooms, 2 baths, 2 car garage with approximately 1,084 sq. ft., mid $300,000s.

Casitas at Spring Creek:

13.5 miles to work, 8 miles to the beach, 3 bedrooms, 2.5 baths, 2 car garage with approximately 1,365 sq. ft., low $400,000s.

So far we are leaning towards Mystic Point and Sante Fe Walk. But it all comes down to funding and availability. Oh and Karen and Me getting a job....
